Willie D. Sowers Jr. (Bill) peacefully passed away Saturday January 16th, 2021 surrounded by his loving daughters and grandson in Nashville, TN. He was born February 27, 1936 in Princeton, WV. Willie proudly served in the United States Air Force for 20 years, recipient of multiple awards then retired from Blalock and Sons in Sevierville, TN after 20 years of service. He was a loving husband, father, papaw, and friend to all who knew him.

He had a deep love for his family, especially his grandkids, spending time outside attending to his yard and gardens, singing and dancing and a lifetime love for Pepsi and bologna sandwiches. His laughter, wit and fun-loving spirit will be deeply missed.

He was preceded in death by his wife of 54 years Helen Spence Sowers and parents Willie David Sr. and Evelyn Sowers.

He is survived by his children, David Sowers, Randy Sowers (Lora), Rhonda Sowers Davis and Melissa Sowers McReynolds. Brother Sonny Sowers, Sisters Pat Bailey, Mary Margaret Brim and Sarah (Tink) Warrington. Grandchildren Irvin, Nancy, Kari, Tanner and Brittany. Many brother & sister in-laws, nieces and nephews and great grandkids.

A special thank you to his wonderful care givers from The Meadows in Nashville, who took loving care of him over the last 2 years. Most of all during this last year of lock down during COVID-19, your dedication to those that depend on you will never be forgotten. He loved all you so very much. Thank you for your time and commitment, to ensure we had weekly facetime, window time and plenty of fun & Pepsi on hand.

Mr. Sowers will be inurned at a future date in his hometown of Princeton WV, Roselawn Cemetery with Military honors.
