
Age 46, died November 2, 2020 in Nashville, TN. Growing up in Troy, she graduated from CHHS and participated in the service organization TwentyOne as president. She was a TSU graduate, a member of Kappa Delta sorority with an Art History major and a double minor in Classics and Business administration. She married Eric Burns Parnell in 1996 and worked in retail and real estate. After moving to Clarksville, TN, with her husband and two children, she volunteered throughout the community and schools.
Hospitality and outreach is how friends and family will remember her. Samaritan’s Purse was very dear to Sondra, giving Christmas gifts in honor of family members for many years. Her smile lit up a room and her home was always full of fun fellowship and most importantly love. She was very kind and giving especially to those who serve others. She was a devoted mother, wife, sister, aunt, niece, cousin, friend and daughter: ”Show me your faith without deeds, and I will show you my faith by my deeds.”James 2: 18
Sondra is survived by her husband Eric, son Jackson Parnell and daughter Mary Mathis Parnell, brother Clifton Hassett , father and mother Terry and Gentry Hassett of Troy, brothers-in-law Derrick Parnell, Brandon Parnell (Jennifer), father and mother-in-Law Mike and Sammie King and father-in-law Randy Parnell, nephew Christopher Hassett.
Visitation will be at 10am, November 21, 2020 followed by a Memorial Service at Park Memorial in Troy, AL
