Ronald Joe McDowell, age 74 of Pegram, TN passed away October 15, 2017. He was born September 12, 1943 in Nashville, TN to the late James E. and Colista R. McDowell.
Mr. McDowell served his country, joining the U.S. Army and serving during the Vietnam War. He was also an avid fan of University of Tennessee.
Mr. McDowell was preceded in death by his parents and sister, Nancy Lee Beasley.
He is survived by his wife, Sharon Elizabeth Stuart McDowell; daughters, Jennifer (John) Fitzgerald and Deanie (Kerrie) Richardson; sons, Ronald Joe (Marissa) McDowell II and Clyde (Mike) Richardson; brother, Jimmy McDowell; grandsons, Mason Cannon Richardson, John William Fitzgerald, Wilson Grant Richardson and Merritt Arthur McDowell; granddaughters, Lacie Danielle Green, Tiffany Michelle Daniels, Katherine Elisabeth Fitzgerald, Mierryn Aileen McDowell, Mallaney Callahan McDowell, Ashley, Abbey, Annalise, Ava, Brittani and Kristen; seven great-grandchildren and many other family members and friends.
A service to celebrate Mr. McDowell’s life will be conducted at 3 P.M., Sunday, November 5, 2017 at the First Baptist Church in Pegram, TN. The family will receive friends from 1 P.M. until the time of service at the church. A committal service with military honors will be conducted at 1 P.M., Monday, November 6, 2017 in the Middle Tennessee Veterans Cemetery.
