Reed Alan Ammons, age 29 of Nashville, TN, passed away July 13, 2019 in Nashville. He was born April 6, 1990 in Nashville to Roger and Donna Ammons.
Reed graduated from Nashville Christian School in 2008 and attended MTSU. He was employed with EW Concepts. Reed loved God, his family, and his friends. His faith was strong, even with his daily struggles. He loved life, sports, being outdoors, rock climbing, swimming, hiking, fishing, and camping. He loved going on family trips to Florida, Gatlinburg, Fall Creek Falls State Park, and Lake Guntersville State Park.
Reed was a die-hard Vanderbilt and Titans fan. A prankster and a daredevil, he loved making people laugh and he never met a stranger. He loved to dance and entertain others, but he also had a tender heart and would do whatever he could to help others, never asking for anything in return. He was a bright light to anyone he was with and will be sorely missed. We take comfort knowing he is in Heaven, with many family members and friends, including his long-time best friend, Stratton Jones.
Reed was preceded in death by his grandparents, Randall and Mary Ammons and Olice and Elouise Goodman.
He is survived by his parents, Roger and Donna Ammons; sister, Kristen Ammons (Jason Graham); brother, Ryan Ammons; niece, Blakely Kate Ammons; as well as many aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends. Georgia and Shelby Lillibridge were two special cousins, always there to encourage Reed, giving him words of advice, and listening when he needed someone to talk to.
A celebration of Reed’s life will be conducted at 12:00 P.M., Thursday, July 18, 2019 at West Meade Fellowship ,277 Old Hickory Blvd., Nashville, 37221. Interment will follow in Harpeth Hills Memory Gardens with friends serving as pallbearers. The family will receive friends from 2:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M., on Wednesday, July 17, 2019 and from 10:00 A.M. until the time of service on Thursday at the church.
