Patricia Ann Buie passed away November 27th under hospice care in Murfreesboro, TN. She was born May 8th, 1949 in Memphis, TN to Reverend John N. Buie and Martha Amanda Hutchins Buie.
Preceded in death by her parents, sister, Connie Buie Elkins and brother, John Scott Wilkerson, she is survived by son, Ichiro Buie Stewart; sister, Lauralyn Buie Jameson; grandchildren, Rosella Stewart and Edel Stewart; a nephew and several nieces.
She was an accomplished musician who was born to play the piano. Her first performance was at age 6 with her own composition sung with harmony with her 3 year old sister. She and Lauralyn performed at all of their father’s churches when he was a circuit preacher in Mississippi.
She loved to travel and took her gift of music worldwide. She was a studio musician in Nashville and participated and practiced her faith as Minister of Music wherever she was living.
In her later years, she found her calling in the geriatric field, caring for the homebound with medical needs. It was, in her words, her way of giving back.
Heartfelt thanks to all her friends in the Nashville area that ministered to her needs as she battled cancer, especially Connie Hart, Candy Christman, Richard Johnson, Daly Thompson, Ann and Jack Miller, Julia and Bob Lowe and Victor Legg. She was also helped immensely by niece, Cynda Bellamy at the beginning of her diagnosis, and nephew, Nick Elkins throughout the journey.
A celebration of her life will be held December 13th at 2:00pm at Johnson’s Chapel United Methodist Church in Brentwood, TN.

I knew Pat when she lived in Amory, Mississippi. We graduated from high school together…always friendly. I remember her talent for playing the piano and singing too. I haven’t seen Pat since she left Amory…saddened by the news…thoughts & prayers for her family.

I’m so sorry to hear about Pat. She was a very sweet and talented lady. She sang “Climb Every Mountain “ at our graduation and did an awesome job. Prayers for her family in this most difficult time.

I have so many fond memories of Pat & Lauralyn in high school. And especially their incredible musical gifts. I have often thought of them and have hoped they found wonderful expressions for their talents. My heartfelt thoughts to Lauralyn and the rest of the family. Heaven is enriched by her addition to the choir.

On the very first day of 3rd grade, in the first hour of school, I was sitting behind Patrica swinging my feet and kicking her desk. It made a nice sound. The teacher, Mrs. Nix, had stepped outside or some such. Patrica turned around, and said, “Boy, would you please stop kicking my desk?” For me, it was love at first sight. For her, probably not so much.
