Wilma Deavers
b. December 1, 1940
Wilma Joyce Deavers, 78, daughter of Roscoe and Lois (Young) Roberts (both Deceased), rose to the loving arms of Jesus and her family angels at 3:00 a.m., November 15, 2019 at St. Thomas West Hospital. She passed away from complications of her kidneys.
Joyce was born December 1, 1940 at LaFollette, TN. She has resided in Nashville, TN for over 40 years. She graduated from LaFollette High School and went on to work in a shirt factory, as an operator at a telephone operation center, and a secretary with the Department of Agriculture. Her last employment, from which she retired, was with the Department of Treasury, Internal Revenue Service, as a Problem Resolution Assistor.
Joyce was always a friend and helpful to many people, and a devoted Baptist. She was an awesome mother to her daughter. She also loved and tried to help animals both wild and domestic. As ‘Momma Joyce', she loved her own pets fiercely and with utter devotion.
Joyce had two brothers, Carl Raymond Roberts (Deceased) and Paul Edgar Roberts. She left behind nephews and nieces, Eric Roberts, Tracy Roberts-Thomas, Paul Michael Roberts (Deceased), and Mark Timothy Roberts. Also, left behind is her beloved daughter Jeri Lisa McClain and her heart's child Kymberie Sanford.
