Stephen Darrell Sargent, age 71, of Spring Hill, Tennessee, passed away peacefully on October 10, 2025, surrounded by his loving family.
Born on April 2, 1954, Steve lived a life defined by devotion to his family, a tireless work ethic, and a deep well of kindness and integrity. He was a beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend—deeply cherished by all who knew him.
Steve is survived by his devoted wife, Sharon Sargent, and their children: Laura (David) Lusk, Jayme (Daniel) Simmons, Hillary (Josh) Lundergan, and Stephen Sargent. He was a proud and loving grandfather to Jordan Gambrell, Ashlyn Gambrell, Reagan Gambrell, Lauren Lusk, Olivia Simmons, Brody Simmons, and Emery Simmons. He is also survived by his sister, Deborah (Dan) Wright, as well as many extended family members and lifelong friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, John (Renee) Sargent and Mary Sargent; his brother, Mark Sargent; and his sons, David Sargent and Jason Thompson—whose memories remain forever etched in the hearts of those who loved them.
Steve’s legacy is one of quiet strength and steady love. He was a source of unwavering support to his family and a man who found joy in life’s simplest moments. Whether spending time with his loved ones, doting on his beloved Yorkies—Macy and Josie—cheering on his favorite sports teams, or sharing stories and laughter, Steve brought warmth, wisdom, and light to every room he entered.
A celebration of life will be held on November 14, 2025, to honor Steve’s memory. Service details will be announced at a later date.
