Raymond "Monty" Crocker, Iii

April 22, 1960 — June 5, 2022

Monty Crocker, 62, passed away from a brief battle with cancer at the Alive Hospice House, in Nashville, TN on June 5, 2022. Monty was born in Union, SC on April 22, 1960 to Raymond H. "Sonny" Crocker, Jr. & Gwendolyn Hines Crocker. He graduated from Union High School and attended North Greenville College where he played on the basketball team for both schools.

Monty owned his own business, Montec Industries, and spent most of his adult life in Atlanta, Georgia. He was the proudest father and loved every moment that he got to spend with his children. They were the love of his life. He was an entrepreneur who found satisfaction in making his own way. He enjoyed traveling, being near the beach and water, and always keeping up with the latest fashion trends. Those who knew him knew he was always sporting a picture perfect “GQ” look. In his younger adult years, he enjoyed shagging at the beach or hitting the disco dance floor. His closest friends knew him as a constant jokester and he loved to use humor to make the memories that have endeared him to so many. He was also an avid fan of the South Carolina Gamecocks and the Atlanta Braves.

Monty is survived by his mother, Gwen Crocker. Three children, Lilliana, Nate & Noah Crocker. A sister, Donna Crocker Sumner and her husband Mike. Two special nieces, Merritt Segars and Brooke Newell and husband Wes, three great-nieces Brynna, Berkley, and Harper, great-nephew Mac, and a very special friend, Patti Cross. He was predeceased by his father, Raymond H. "Sonny" Crocker, Jr.

The family would like to send a heartfelt thanks to all the staff of Crescent Hospice in both the Charleston and Union offices, specifically Christine, Georgetta, Tonya, Christy, Melissa & John.

Memorial services will be held at the Main Street Junction in Union, SC on  June 30, 2022 6pm-8pm.

In lieu of flowers, a savings account has been set up for his children. Donations can be made to them via Venmo @forcrocker42260
