Celebration of Life for Nicholas Ryan Stealey

January 21, 1989 – October 3, 2023

Nicholas Ryan Stealey, 34, of Nashville, Tennessee, left us on October 3, 2023, surrounded by his family, from a two-year battle with metastatic melanoma.  He was a warrior, never complaining and always ready with an encouraging word for others.  Nick was born on January 21, 1989, in Cedar Rapids, Iowa.

Nick is survived by his loving parents, Doug and Jackie, and his devoted sister, Megan, plus so many dear friends.

A brunch Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, October 7, 2023 from 11:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. at the L.A. Jackson Rooftop Bar in the Thompson Hotel in Nashville, Tennessee.  Funeral services will be held at a later date in Cedar Rapids, Iowa.

The Stealey Family would like to thank Nick’s oncologist, Dr. Douglas Johnson, and the many other doctors, nurses, and medical staff at Vanderbilt University Medical Center for their exceptional care and compassion.

Nick loved the sport of soccer and giving back to kids.  His family would like to honor his legacy by welcoming donations in lieu of flowers to Kickin’ It­ 615.  Kickin’ It 615 is a non-profit organization that provides free soccer, from gear to snacks to volunteers, for kids. They believe soccer can be used in a powerful way to create a space for character building, connecting to the community, cultivating relationships, and for children to feel valued and loved.
