Nicholas Clay Simpkins

With deep sorrow and love, we announce the passing of Nicholas Clay Simpkins, who departed this life on May 13, 2025, at the age of 28. Nicholas was born on January 21, 1997, to Robert and Tammy Simpkins, who nurtured his creative and compassionate spirit from an early age.

Nicholas was a man of quiet strength, gentle humor, and remarkable talent. An artist in every sense of the word, he found joy in painting miniatures, working with wood, and expressing himself through canvas. His skill as a carpenter was matched only by his keen intellect—he was a devoted reader of history, often found deep in books that explored the lives and legacies of those who came before.

He had a profound love for nature, enjoying long walks in the woods and the peaceful focus of archery. He ended many of his days with a simple but cherished ritual: a warm cup of tea and time spent with the ones he loved. Those close to Nicholas knew him as someone with a sharp wit and a generous laugh, always ready with a joke or story to brighten the room.

Nicholas is survived by his beloved wife, Tainara Valger da Silva, whose love and partnership were his greatest joys. He leaves behind his devoted parents, Robert and Tammy Simpkins, and his loving siblings, Leslie Denise Eicholtz and Robert Lee Simpkins IV. He was a cherished grandson to Robert and Judy Simpkins, and now joins his late grandparents, Truman and Dereatha Hill, in eternal peace.

He is also survived by his sister-in-law Lilis Simpkins, brother-in-law Kyle Eicholtz, mother-in-law Zeli Valger, and nieces Chloe and Ella Varney Coleman, and Ava Eicholtz, all of whom he adored and who brought great joy to his life.

Nicholas was a member of La Casa Church of Nashville, TN, where his faith and sense of community deepened over the years.

He will be remembered for his creativity, kindness, humor, and the deep love he gave so freely to his family and friends. While his time with us was far too short, Nicholas leaves behind a legacy of warmth, beauty, and inspiration that will live on in the hearts of all who knew him.

A celebration of Nicholas’s life will be held at a later date.
