Mattie Criswell

Mattie Elizabeth Criswell, age 101, of Nashville, TN passed away February 13, 2016. She was born February 6, 1915 in Nashville, TN.She spent most of her adult life in Vallejo, CA until returning to Nashville after the death of her husband, Horace Criswell, Sr. in 1999.She was preceded in death by her oldest grandson, Michael B Valdez.She is survived by four children, Mary Valdez Cunningham (Chuck) of Nashville, TN, Carol Wernecke of Marietta, GA, Virginia Robinson (Harold) of Marietta, GA and Horace Criswell (Joan) of Healdsburg, CA. She is also survived by seven grandchildren, Brett Valdez(Natalie), Ryan Cunningham (Jessica), Seth Cunningham (Taylor), all of Nashville, TN, Matthew Wernecke of Marietta, GA, Carrie Swenson (Ted) of Denver, CO, John Wernecke of Chicago, IL, Emily Vidaurri(Rudy) of Sacramento, CA, thirteen great-grandchildren, two great-great-grandchildren.A Memorial Service will be held at 12:00 P.M., Saturday, February 20, 2016 at Tusculum Cumberland Presbyterian Church, 477 McMurray Dr., Nashville, TN, 37211. The family will receive friends from 11:00 A.M. until the time of service at the church.In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Tusculum Cumberland Presbyterian Church, 477 McMurray Dr., Nashville, TN, 37211or to the charity of the donor's choice.
