Mary Davis

Mary Elizabeth Davis, age 94, of LaVergne, Tennessee, left this earth for her heavenly home January 1, 2017 after a difficult and long struggle with stomach cancer. Mrs. Davis was born February 10, 1922 in Modesto, California.Mrs. Davis worked for many years at the K-Mart on Donelson Pike in Nashville as the Deli Manager. She loved fishing and Vanderbilt Sports. She was best known for her lovingly spirit and calm in the face of a storm. She will be remembered as the person who would offer you a place to stay, a meal, and an ear to hear your joys and troubles.She was preceded in death by her parents, William and Bessie Honeycutt; husband, Henry Davis; son, Ronnie Gray; brothers, James “Buddy” Honeycutt and Walt Honeycutt; and sister, Millie Haley.She is survived by her son, Jerry E. Gray of LaVergne, TN; granddaughters, Tina Howard of WA; Mike Gray of LaVergne, TN, Christopher (Misty) Gray of Rockvale, TN and Rebecca (Tony) Dennis of LaVergne, TN and Kimberly Gray Boartfield of AL; great-grandchildren, Krista (Ben) Neal, Justin Howard, Amanda Gray, Michael Gray, Matthew Gray, Zachery Gray, Tanner Gray, Seth Gray, Marisa Gray, Courtney (Tim) Biggs of Smyrna, Kacey Dennis and Kaitlyn Gray; nine great-great-grandchildren, many nieces, nephews, family and friends.The family requests that in celebrating Mrs. Davis' 95th birthday on February 12, 2017, friends and family light a candle or say a prayer in her memory. She will be laid to rest in the spring at Woodlawn Memorial Park in Nashville, TN.
