Nashville

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Laurence Clark Morgan, known to many as Larry, on November 27, 2025, at the age of 78. Larry was born on January 20, 1947, in Los Angeles, California, and spent his later years in Nashville, Tennessee.

Larry was a dedicated contractor and carpenter, renowned for his skill in remodeling old homes. His career evolved into the cable industry, where he continued to leave his mark with hard work and creativity. Larry had a remarkable zest for life, demonstrating a resilience that earned him the family's affectionate claim that he had more than nine lives. Despite facing numerous health challenges, including a serious illness in his youth, he managed to bounce back time and again, inspiring those around him with his tenacity.

As a father, Larry cherished his three children—Jessica (Will) Kimbrough, Matthew (Jennifer) Morgan, and Adam (Brenna) Morgan. He was a supportive and loving presence in their lives, always encouraging them through every endeavor. Larry bore the proud title of Granddad, cherished by his granddaughters Emma and Sadie, and grandson Jonathan, as well as his other grandchildren, Reid and Finley. He relished every moment spent with them, preserving every card, letter, and piece of art they gifted him, embodying the love and legacy of a devoted grandfather.

Larry's personality shined brightly, characterized by his charming demeanor and warm spirit. Known as "the Villager" in his neighborhood, he formed friendships with everyone he encountered. His kindness extended especially towards those less fortunate, and he was often seen with a coffee in hand, readily engaging in conversation with those around him.

In his leisure time, Larry found joy in books, music, and painting. He began exploring his artistic side by creating folk art in his 70s, and he had a special affinity for discussing astrology and nurturing his many plants, particularly cacti.

Larry’s life was marked by several memorable experiences, one of which included his journey in the late 1960s, traveling across the country with a group of individuals and his young family to settle on a farm in Summertown, Tennessee. This endeavor became known as "The Farm," a famous commune that continues to exist, a source of great pride for Larry as one of its original members.

Larry's later years were not without challenges. After enduring a second stroke and a prolonged hospital stay, he received compassionate care at Alive Hospice, where he peacefully departed this world on Thanksgiving morning.

He is preceded in death by his beloved brother, Burt Morgan, and his parents, June Morgan and Alvin Morgan. Larry leaves behind a legacy of love, creativity, and resilience that will forever be remembered by his family and friends. His spirit will live on in the hearts of all who knew him.
