Larry Glenn Malm, 79, of Banner County, Nebraska, went home to be with the Lord on Friday, November 15th, in Nashville, Tennessee. His wife and daughters were by his side to see him home.
Larry was born to Glenn and Thelma Malm in Cheyenne, Wyoming, on January 25, 1946. The middle of three boys, Larry grew up in Banner County and lived there most of his life. Harrisburg Community Church was his church home and a place he cherished. Larry graduated from Harrisburg High School in 1964 where he excelled in football. His love of the game made him a lifelong Husker fan who also enjoyed cheering for the volleyball team at every opportunity. On August 20th, 1966, Larry married his high school sweetheart, Kathy Wynne. After graduating from Chadron State College, he served 2 years in the US army where he was stationed in Texas. A farmer at heart, he also worked as a loan officer for several banks. He spent many years raising potatoes, beans and wheat. Larry was always scanning the surrounding farmland and appreciating the beauty in nature. He and Kathy enjoyed traveling to California and Tennessee to visit their two daughters and grandchildren. This September, they moved to Clarksville, TN, to be closer to family.
Larry is survived by his beloved wife of 59 years, Kathy, as well as the following immediate family members: daughter Stacy (Lance) Green (Clarksville, TN) and their children Kaitlyn (Peyton) Phillps (Clarksville, TN), Anna (Dalton) Luna (Collierville, TN), Corporal Aaron Green (US Marine Corp – Okinawa, Japan), and Lela Green (Clarksville, TN) as well as great grandchildren Parker and Easton Phillips. Daughter Stephanie (Bill) Westfahl, and their children Tyler and Jake, all of Fairfield, California.
Also survived by brother Lee (Charlene) Malm (Banner County), sister-in-law Linda Malm (Glendale, AZ), sister-in-law Tammy (Tim) May (Imperial), brother-in-law Bernie Wynne (Scottsbluff), and sister-in-law Janice Wynne (Gering), as well as many well-loved nieces, nephews and cousins too numerous to name and a host of friends. Special thanks to close friends Ron Johnson, Scott Ansley, Larry Pahl, Troy Freeburg and Don Cashler.
Larry was proceeded in death by parents Glenn & Thelma Malm, brother Kent Malm, nephews Shane Malm and Jody Malm, in-laws Leon and Agnes Wynne, and beloved infant daughter Becky Jo.
Larry was a man of faith and he never wavered. John 3:16
