James Lewis

James Ray Lewis, age 76, of Old Hickory, TN, passed away March 28, 2018. He was born September 22, 1941 in Madison, Davidson County, Tennessee.He was a graduate of DuPont High school. James was a long time member of Tulip Grove Baptist Church where he was very active in the church's missions, Men's ministry breakfast program and Room in the Inn. He retired from DuPont with over 40 years of service. He enjoyed his job and recently returned to work for 3M. He loved gardening and trips to the beach.He is survived by his wife of 55 years, Janice Hardiman Lewis; son, Steve Ray (Tracy) Lewis; daughter, Cherie (Randy) Adcock; grandchildren, Gregg Medlin, Kassie (Tim) Burkeen, Tyler (Caroline) Lewis, Eric Lewis, Madeline Lewis, Spencer Magllolo, Mallory Magllolo and Haley Magllolo; great-grandson, Charlie Ray Lewis; sister, Wanda (Vic) Bares; and sister-in-law, Elaine (Bill) Spence.Visitation will be held on Monday April 2 from 5:00-8:00 p.m. at Tulip Grove Baptist Church, 563 Shute Lane, Old Hickory.TN 37138. Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 am Tuesday April 3 at Tulip Grove Baptist Church, with visitation one hour prior to service. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Tulip Grove Baptist Church Missions Program.
