Jack Speicher Spangler, age 81 of Goodlettsville, TN, in an instant was released from the bonds of this earthly body and entered the presence of his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on May 14, 2025. He lived an active, hard-working life, loving on family, friends, and neighbors in his ever-present strong and silent care for the hearts and souls of those he encountered with every moment.
Jack was born on April 22, 1944. He grew up on a dairy farm, VernLo Acres, located in Shanksville, PA. He went on to serve in the Army for three years. During his service he and Bev married on September 1, 1967. After completing his service, he obtained a Dairy Science degree from West Virginia University, and went on to have a 25+ year career in the dairy and ice cream industry. They welcomed two children to their family, first a daughter, Stefanie, then a son, Todd. Following a dream, after retiring, he and Bev began a bonus career running a bed & breakfast in their 1880’s farm house. Jack served as the primary farmhand, groundskeeper, and sous chef for Crocker Springs Bed & Breakfast, which they ran together for 20 years. During those years they welcomed five grandchildren and eagerly poured into each of their lives.
Throughout his life he served in local churches, spending the last two decades in service to the Lord, faithfully hearing and effectually doing the Word with fellow believers at Calvary Bible Church. With a heart for people to know the Lord as their personal Savior, he walked in a manner worthy of his calling, not in perfection but with sincerity of heart and a dedication to the Truth.
Jack is survived by: his beloved wife of over 57 years, Bev Gerhardt Spangler; children, Stefanie (Clark) Comperry of Beavercreek, OH, and Todd (Jackie) Spangler of Goodlettsville, TN; grandchildren, Jonathan Comperry of Beavercreek, OH; Jessica (Mark) Arnold of Taylors, SC, Justin Comperry of Goodlettsville, TN, Samuel Spangler, and Claire Spangler of Goodlettsville, TN; great-grandchildren, Rebecca Arnold and Matthew Arnold of Taylors, SC; Siblings, Marcy (Rudy) Sharpe of Hummelstown, PA, and Denise (Ned) Zechman of Sarasota, FL.
