Hazel Kathryn Taylor, age 70 of Nashville, TN passed away March 27, 2018 in Hendersonville, TN. Mrs. Taylor was born June 25, 1947 in Nashville, TN to Ernest Kenneth Hinson and the former Mary Etta Sutton.Mrs. Taylor was a proud graduate of East High School in Nashville. She married Thomas Richard Taylor on March 25, 1977 in Greensboro, NC, where they lived for several years before moving back to Nashville, TN. They had recently celebrated their 41st wedding anniversary. She worked as a school crossing guard, church janitor, and nanny for several families over the years. She loved children, and many young people thought of her as a second mom. She was a woman of strong faith and was very involved in Eastland Baptist Church and Dalewood Baptist Church, working in the nursery and various children’s and young adult programs within those churches. She was very proud of her grandchildren. She enjoyed reading, playing games with family, and eating a good slice of cheesecake. She will be remembered for her patience, generosity regardless of how little she had, her great sense of humor, and her ability to find the good in anyone and in any situation.Mrs. Taylor was preceded in death by her parents, her daughter, Melanie Ruth Taylor; and brothers, Arnold Hinson, Ernest Hinson, and Edwin Hinson.She is survived by her husband, Thomas Richard Taylor; son, Martin Eliot (Hope Wray) Taylor; daughter, Mary Sue (Jason) Martin; brothers, Eric Sutton Hinson and Eliot Cowan Hinson; grandchildren, Hannah Katelynn and Zoe Ruth Martin; and Hope's daughter, Darcy Cannon.A memorial service will be conducted at 3 P.M., Friday, March 30, 2018 at Eastland Baptist Church.
