On Saturday December 24, 2016 Harold Lee Owens departed this life at Saint Thomas West Hospital.Harold was born June 27, 1952 to the late Samual Blackwell and Agnes Owens. He was a graduate of Pearl High School, class of 1970. He was a gifted athlete that enjoyed swimming and played basketball, baseball and tennis. Harold will be remembered as a devoted father, brother and friend. He brought laughter to everybody that he came in contact with. He retired from Metro Public Works, after 30 years of service. As many of you know, after retiring he enjoyed taking it easy and spending time with his beloved dog, "Ghost".He will be sadly missed by his devoted family, including son, Mario (Pamela) Owens; daughter, Danisha Owens; step-children, Danita (Lajuan) Lewis, Dewayne Kimbro and Shonda Moore; siblings, Deborah A. Owens, Betty (Randolph) Witt, Kenneth Owens, Wayne Blackwell, Joyce (Sammy) Walker, Karen (James) Lowe, Stephen Blackwell, Beverly Blackwell, Wilma Blackwell, Carole (Tony) Cartwright and Ricky (Kelly) Taylor; aunt, Janice (Edward) Johnson; and a host of other relatives and special friends including Deborah R. Owens and Rhonda Moore.A Home Going Celebration will be held on Thursday, December 29, 2016 at Olivet Missionary Baptist Church, 144 Ewing Drive, Nashville, TN 37207 with visitation from 11:00 am to 12:00pm and service to follow.The family extends an expression of gratitude to everyone at Olivet Missionary Baptist Church, Saint John AME Church, Saint Thomas West Hospital, Dr. Lester Porter, Dr. Paul Rosenblatt, everyone on Seven C at Saint Thomas West Hospital and of course, family and friends.
