Glenn William Wey

March 21, 1936 – July 20, 2026

Glenn William Wey, age 90, of Fairview, Tennessee, passed away on July 20, 2026. He left behind a lifetime of love, laughter, hard work, and countless memories that will be cherished by all who knew him.

Born and raised in East Nashville, Glenn was proud to call Tennessee home throughout his entire life. He graduated from East High School, where he played football, and went on to build a successful career as the owner of Wey Graphics, a commercial printing company in Nashville. For more than 20 years, Glenn took pride in serving local businesses and building lasting relationships throughout the community.

For the past couple decades, Glenn made his home in Fairview with his beloved wife of 18 years, LaRue. They were married in September 2008 by their dear friend, Judge Mark Fishburn. Their wedding day became one of their favorite stories to tell when they realized they had forgotten to have a witness, and the county clerk happily stepped in. Before heading back to the print shop to finish a big job, Glenn treated his new bride to Sonic. That evening, family and friends gathered at the Flamingo Lounge to celebrate the newlyweds.

Glenn loved spending his free time on the golf course or by the water with a fishing pole in hand, especially if his best friend and brother, Jerry, was by his side. He also loved playing pool, darts, and cards, especially Rook and Texas Hold’em. At the Flamingo Lounge, Glenn proudly captained the pool league and earned the nickname “Captain.” Friends would always greet him with the familiar chant: “He’s the peaches, he’s the cream, he’s the captain of our team!”

If you knew Glenn, you knew his smile. He had an easygoing spirit, a quick wit, and a way of making people laugh wherever he went. He was loyal, dependable, and the kind of friend you could always count on. And when football season rolled around, there was no missing him—he was a proud Tennessee Volunteers fan who commonly wore Tennessee orange from head to toe.

Glenn is survived by his loving wife, LaRue Wey; his brothers, Jerry Wey and Tommy Wey (Pat); his sister, Mary Jean Rogers (Ronnie); his daughters, Terry Wakefield, Cheree Blackwell, Rhonda Wey, and Christi Clark; his stepdaughter, Amanda Brackeen (Wesley); his grandchildren, Chad Wakefield (Kayleigh), Clay Porter, Jason Blackwell, Bradey Brackeen (Cassidy), Hannah Clark, and Hannah Belle Brackeen; his great-grandchildren, Mason, Avery, Addy, Zoe (Brian), Tyler, Amaya, CJ, Adrian, and Bella; and his great-great-grandchildren, Adalyn and Carter.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Robert and Edith Wey; his brother, Ted Wey; and his parents-in-law, Billy and Marjorie Lankford.

Glenn’s greatest legacy was the way he loved his family and friends, the laughter he shared, and the memories he created with everyone fortunate enough to know him. He will be deeply missed, fondly remembered, and forever loved.
