Emily Sue Scifres, cherished mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend passed away on June 25, 2026, in Fairview, Tennessee. She was born on November 21, 1966, in Roswell, New Mexico, a place where her journey of warmth, creativity, and compassion began.

Emily’s life was defined by her deep love for family. Her heart swelled with pride at every milestone, every smile, and every triumph of her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren—her proudest accomplishments in this world. She is lovingly survived by her 4 children, 8 grandchildren, 3 great-grandchildren, a sister, a brother, and 5 nieces and nephews who each carry forward pieces of her kindness and strength.

The roots of Emily’s empathy and gentle spirit can be traced back to her dad, Mart Scifres, who preceded her in death. The love and lessons by him shaped Emily into the generous soul she was, one who always welcomed others with a listening ear and an open heart.

Creativity was Emily’s constant companion. Whether she was crafting something special by hand or searching for unique treasures while thrifting, she saw beauty in the everyday and found joy in sharing her creations with those she loved. Her support for B.A.C.A. and their mission showed the depth of her commitment to protecting and uplifting vulnerable children—a cause that resonated with her nurturing spirit.

Emily’s passing leaves a void that words can hardly describe, but her memory lives on in the laughter she inspired, the crafts she lovingly made, and the unwavering encouragement she offered. 

As her loved ones gather to remember her, they celebrate a life marked not by accolades or possessions, but by the lasting bonds she formed and the love she gave so freely. Emily Sue Scifres will be deeply missed, yet her legacy continues in the hearts of all who had the honor of knowing her. 

She fought the good fight, she has finished the race, she has kept the faith. She is now resting peacefully in the arms of her Savior.
