Edward Michael Buchanan

Edward “Eddie” Michael Buchanan was born April 16, 1948, in Nashville and died on Oct. 19, 2025, at age 77, at his home in Ashland City.

Eddie was preceded in death by his father, Leroy Buchanan, and his mother, Mattie Lee Woods; his wife, Barbara Buchanan; and his daughters Laura Poteete and Kimberly Buchanan.

He is survived by his brother, Billy Buchanan; daughter Misty Emery; grandchildren Meghan Emery, Cassie (Glen) Poteete, Brian Poteete and Presley Davis; and two great grandchildren.

Eddie was a skilled welder, and an iron worker by trade with Local 492. He was a lifelong mechanic and professional “tinkerer.” He loved building engines and hot-rodding with his brother and his nephews. In later years, he worked construction with BCS Contractors.

Eddie was known for his direct communication style and contrary nature. But he also had a witty sense of humor and often was a playful agitator. He will be missed by many.
