David Christopher Morgan

March 29, 1989 — October 23, 2025

Nashville, TN

Our precious loving son

David Christopher Morgan passed away peacefully at St. Thomas West hospital in Nashville, TN with his mother holding one hand and his brother, John, holding the other, speaking loving words of how much his life meant to us and how much we all love him.

Chris was born in Nashville, TN and raised in East Cobb Marietta, GA, attending East Valley, East Cobb Middle and Walton High school then later graduated from Penn Foster.

Chris was a soldier in life battling diabetes, double amputation and health issues.

He was so strong, a recognized writer, composer and pianist in the music business. The band Levitate created at age 14, then Recording became the next step in his music career. Soon, Symphony Crack Orchestra band was created where Chris played turn tables and piano alongside brother Matt, Ashanti, Mikey, Casey, and Adrian. As a band, they recorded two albums and performed internationally. Signed to Atlantic Records allowing collaboration with famous artists. Chris remained active for years then settling on solo writing and composing.

His lyrics, rhythm and music live on forever in the hearts of endless fans, friends and family.

Chris was an animal lover, a youth basketball player. He was recruited onto an all-star league in high school and briefly had ambitions of pursuing the sport professionally. Chris loved his movie camera, constantly filming himself skateboarding, shooting hoops, riding his 4-wheeler or creating prank skits.

Mostly, his time was spent watching his favorite movies. His earliest obsessions were Scooby Doo, Ninja Turtles, but some later standouts included Mrs. Doubtfire, Crazy Stupid Love, Desperate Housewives, the God Father and Get Shorty.

Chris and his brother Luke were immersed in the world of Game of Thrones, all while Chris ensured they had an endless supply of Sour Patch Kids—a habit he happily and successfully got Luke hooked on.

Chris was wise beyond his years, insightful nature and quick wit shone brightest.

Chris’s quiet gentle strength, brilliant mind, and unwavering presence will be sorely missed by all who knew and loved him.

Chris was our Picasso; his magical ways of writing and composing was genius. Chris was a debater, and sports was his enduring love, he knew every player, their stats and plays. He would spend hours debating and enjoyed talking with his incredible mind and knowledge.

There will forever be a void where his laughter, intelligence and quick wit once was.

Chris is in heaven with Granny Goose and Ray caring for each other no doubt.

He is survived by his mother, Lynda Harris; brothers, Luke Barrett (wife Jennifer and daughter McKenzie) and Matthew Barrett (wife, Lola and kids Sloane and Asa), John M. Morgan, Matthew G. Morgan, and Alex Snelgrove; his father, David Morgan (wife Pamela O. Morgan); sons, Matthew G. Morgan and John M. Morgan; brother, Cary P. & Margo Morgan and kids Preston & Chandler Morgan; sisters, Patrick & Julie Daly and kids Brian, Timmy, Betsy Daly; Kenneth & Linda Brown and kids Erik & Corey Brown.

We love you, our precious loving son and brother.

Rest in peace, Chris “Kringle” until we see you again!
