Coleman Spotswood Boyd

August 19,1932 – July 29, 2026

Coleman Spotswood Boyd, a proud Nashville native, devoted family man, respected real estate professional, and retired Army veteran, passed away peacefully on July 29, 2026, at the age of 93.

Born on August 19, 1932, in Nashville, Tennessee, Coleman was a descendant of one of Nashville’s founding families. He carried a deep love for his hometown all throughout his life.

Coleman graduated from Duncan Preparatory School in 1950 before answering the call to serve his country. He proudly served in the United States Army and retired after more than 20 years of military service.

Following his military career, Coleman enjoyed a distinguished career in Nashville real estate, spanning more than six decades and served as President of the Nashville Board of Realtors in 1977.

He was preceded in death by his wife of 47 years, Nancy Boyd; his parents, Count R. Boyd and Odell Spotswood Boyd; and his brother, Count R Boyd III.

He is lovingly remembered by his daughters, Margaret Boyd and Elizabeth Boyd Van Sant (Robert); his grandchildren, Coleman Parker Van Sant (Allison) and Elizabeth Vaughn Regan (Peter); his step-grandson, Joseph Barria of California, his nine treasured great-grandchildren; and many extended family members and dear friends.

A man of deep Christian faith, Coleman was known for his warm smile, generous spirit, and lifelong passion for Harley-Davidson motorcycles.

Coleman’s legacy is one of faith, patriotism, hard work, friendship, and unwavering love for his family. His life was a blessing, his memory a treasure, and he will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.
