Cindy Vogus

December 22, 1956 — December 29, 2023

Columbia

Cindy Kay (Dykstra) Vogus passed away December 29, 2023, in Nashville, Tennessee.  She was born December 22, 1956, in Port Hueneme, California to Elmer (Pete) and Darlene Dykstra, née Buntjer.

Cindy grew up in Ventura, CA and in 1975 she graduated from Buena High School.  Shortly thereafter, she married the love of her life, Dean Vogus on May 1st, 1976. Their union was blessed with two daughters, Trisha and Jennifer.  She loved to help her daughters with school functions, their sports interests, girl’s clubs, and other activities in which they participated.

Throughout her life, she worked within the transportation and banking industries, and made several lifelong friends along the way. After she left the professional world, she devoted her attention full time to being a wonderful wife and mother to her family. The family also lived in West Covina and Simi Valley, California communities before migrating east to Spring Hill, Tennessee and eventually Columbia, Tennessee.

Cindy lived a full and enriched life. She also had a great passion for crafts, painting, and refinishing furniture. This led to her starting a small business selling furniture and collectables in an Antiques Mall in Simi Valley, California. Her choice of items to sell were small furniture, Daulton ceramic dolls, Royal Albert glass wear, and Teddy bears. After moving from California to Tennessee, her passions didn’t end. She continued to add to her personal collections that she took great pride in. Cindy had a great love of life and will live in our hearts forever of the many she left behind.

Cindy is predeceased by her parents, Pete and Darlene Dykstra, and sister, Barb Grose.

She is survived by husband of 47 years, Dean Vogus, and daughters, Trisha Restivo (Steve) and Jennifer Vogus, grandchildren, Stevie Restivo and Savannah Restivo, sister Sandy Legan (Bill), aunts, uncle, nieces, and nephews.

Nashville Cremation Center is honored to be entrusted with handling Mrs. Vogus's arrangements. Please visit her guestbook to leave a thoughtful note for the family.
