Betty Spann

Betty Jean Spann, age 74 of Nashville, TN passed away September 5, 2018 in Nashville. She was born November 19, 1943 to Jody Russell Henson and Allen Lovelace.She retired from Trevecca and made her home at the Towers.She loved to laugh and smile, and could brighten anyone’s day with her presence. She loved to travel and explore new places. She liked to read, paint, work puzzles and listen to music. She found beauty, wonder, and innocence in butterflies and her passion was in writing. She would tell you do not grieve, I’ve had a wonderful life filled with love, joy and excitement. Be good to each other. Live, laugh and love because that is what life is about.Mrs. Spann was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Carl Spann; son, Eddie Keith Hindman; and sister, Margaret Carothers.She leaves behind her "mother-sister-best friend", Shirley Matheny; sister, Brenda Daws; brothers, Thomas and David Henson; sons, Anthony Hindman, Michael and Jodie Roheiler; daughter, Tina Merrow; grandchildren, DeAnna, Erica, Taylor and Haley Hindman, Eric, Candice, Autumn and Alex Roheiler, and Chris and Trevor Merrow; 25 great-grandchildren; her beloved poodle of 17 years, Pepper; two step-children, Carlene and Leslie Spann; special friends, J. R. Pittman, Gail Thompson, and Lou Wilson; and all of her wonderful friends at the Towers.A celebration of her life will be held from 1:00 P.M. until 3:00 P.M. with a service at 2:00 P.M. on Wednesday, September 12, 2018 at the Trevecca Towers Chapel, 60 Lester Avenue, Nashville, TN 37210.
