The family of Betty Jane Sisco is deeply saddened to announce her passing on April 26, 2026.
Jane was born on November, 22, 1948 in Macon County, TN, living a full life doing what she loved, being a nurturing, loving, maternal figure to children that spanned multiple generations via her work with childcare. She also loved taking care of animals in need and most of all, she deeply loved her family.
Jane was passionate about three, main things, her family, children and animals. She made it her passion to provide as much nurturing, motherly care to her family, children and animals as she possibly could.
Her loving presence was felt by multiple generations of children throughout her work with Community Childcare. She retired as the Director of Community Childcare in 2015 and continued her passion of taking care of children well into her retirement and up until the day she passed away. She would be lovingly referred to as Ms. Jane or if you were lucky enough, Nana, through her passion.
She has also donated much time and resources to her favorite charity, the Humane Society of Sumner County, another one of her passions.
She is survived by her Husband of 57 years, Larry D. Sisco, her Daughter, Shannon Miller, her Son-In-Law, Thomas Miller, her Son, Shane Sisco and her Son, Joshua Sisco, her Daughter-In-Law, Emily Sisco, her Grandson, Dalton Sisco, her Grandson, Neyland Sisco, her Niece, Lisa Pedigo, her Nephew, Timothy Shrum, in which she treated as her own children. Jane is also survived by Brooke and Spencer Armstrong and their Son, Everett Armstrong and their Daughter, Aubrey Armstrong. Jane was Everett’s and Aubrey’s “Nana” over the last 5 years and were a big part of Jane’s life during her retirement. Jane is preceded in death by her Father, Grover Wilburn, her Mother, Della Wilburn, her Brother, Bobby Wilburn and her Sister, Joyce Shrum.
She loved all of them with great passion and they loved her in the same, mutual respect.
Jane will be missed tremendously by all of the people whose lives she touched, in which there are several.
The family thanks everyone for their kind words and sympathies during this difficult time.
In lieu of flowers and gifts, the family requests for donations to be made to the Humane Society of Sumner County.
