Barbara R. Conley (née Sipe)

March 5, 1947 – August 21, 2025

Barbara R. Conley, 78, of Nashville, TN, passed away on August 21, 2025. Born in New Jersey, she grew up in New Castle, DE, and graduated from William Penn High School in 1965.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Theodore “Ted” Sipe, Edna Mae Gibbons, and Edmond “Daddy Edmond” Gibbons, as well as her brother, Theodore Sipe, Jr. She is survived by her children, Bethanie Conley of Nashville, Brett Conley of Millsboro, DE, and Robert Conley Jr. (Maria) of Middletown, DE. She was a beloved “Nana” to her grandchildren, Brogan Conley and Bryna Conley. Her dearest siblings; Edmond (“Ed”) Gibbons (Joanne), Gary Gibbons, Linda Polster (Frank), Dottie West, Phyllis Lockwood, Vick Gibbons, Bill Gibbons and Ralph Gibbons, and all of her nieces and nephews, and their families. Finally, many of her bunch of cousins for whom she loved without measure.

Barbara loved her family beyond measure and loved her work family at Ascension St. Thomas West, all her rescue pets, her grand-dogs, and cheering on the Titans and Phillies. Supporting animal rescue was also very close to her heart. She will be remembered for her generosity, heart, kindness, laughter, and the joy she brought to others. In her passing, she will forever be our North Star, guiding us from above as we continue life’s journey without her by our side. Rest easy mom, may you forever enjoy the beaches and reuniting with everyone in heaven and at the rainbow bridge. Tell them we all said hello.

Barbara chose cremation, and her family will celebrate her remarkable life at a later date to be announced. In lieu of flowers, please considering donating to Friends of MACC (Metro Animal Care and Control), which is a shelter organization close to her heart or to an animal rescue or shelter close to yours.
