Lloyd and I were pastors together at Bethany United Methodist Church, Madison, WI. Lloyd was one of the most creative people I have been privileged to know. He , my late wife, Sandra and I were friends for many years. I will never forget his caring, weekly calls to Sandra during her long illness. Lloyd was a very good pastor and teacher. He was a loyal friend.

I knew Lloyd several years ago and found him to be one of the most wonderful people I have ever met. Lloyd had a passion for life that few others ever attain. I remember one of his favourite expressions was a quote from Auntie Mame, “Life is a buffet, and most poor bastards are starving to death.” I think this sums up Lloyd’s view of life and what he wanted for all his friends; to encounter all the great wonders of this world, don’t get caught up in the ho hum of everyday routines.

I met Lloyd as a young teen. He was my youth pastor at First United Methodist Church. At a time when the world was cruel and ai felt no love at all, Lloyd took time to let me know I had value. He had terrific impact in k life and I will forever be grateful for his footprints in my life.
