James Allen “Jim” Myers went to his heavenly home November 8, 2017 following a long battle with cancer. He was born April 26, 1950 in Moss Beach, California to Sara Evans Myers and the late Jewell Allen Myers.
Jim was a great lover of animals. He was a Graduate of The New York School of Pet Grooming and owned his own dog grooming business, K9 Design, where he worked until shortly before his death.
Animals gravitated to Jim and he loved his dogs, cats, birds, chickens and turtle. Jim enjoyed the outdoors, especially gardening and swimming. He was an avid bowler and bowled in many leagues and tournaments with all his Bowling Buddies. Jim was always fair, kind and understanding, and loved people!
Jim is survived by his husband/partner of 27 years, Gary Lynn Thomas; sisters, Margie Clemens, Joyce Harrison, Linda Wesseler, Debbie Frecker and Kim Pfaendler; children, Scott Christopher (Jamie) Myers , Matthew Stephan Myers and Nichole Rae (Scott) Adams; and nine grandchildren.
A memorial service for Jim will be held on Saturday, November 11th at 1:00 pm at Holy Trinity Lutheran Church, 525 Sneed Road, Nashville, TN 37221 with the Reverend David Hood officiating.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Alive Hospice at 1718 Patterson Street, Nashville, TN 37203 or by visiting clicking here.

I am so very sorry for your loss. Jim was one of the nicest people I’ve ever had the pleasure of knowing. He was absolutely the most talented groomer in the business and my Standard Poodle Bruce misses him immensely! Jim was so optimistic and courageous fighting his battle with cancer…never once did I see him without a smile on his face. The world will be slightly darker without his light. You are all in my thoughts as you go through this difficult time.

Jim has always held a special place in my heart for the way that he welcomed me to my first gay bowling league back in 1999. He and I have been friends ever since then. My heart goes out to his family, especially Gary, in this time of grief. He will be missed terribly!!

I always knew Jim was such a good person because of his love for animals, when Jim and Gary had a bowling banquet at their house years ago they gave me the grand tour of the property and I had to meet ALL the fur and feathered babies. You will be missed Jim and prayers to Gary and all your family.
