Gordon Stanley “Mickey” Rose, age 81, passed away on March 6th, 2017. Mickey was born to Percy Edward and Mary Margaret on August 4th, 1935 in Detroit, Michigan.

Mickey was a systems analyst for Ford Motor Company in Detroit for nearly two decades before moving to Tennessee to help build the Nissan Plant in Smyrna. He was employee #74 and stood at the end of the assembly line as “Job 1” rolled out. After nearly 20 years at Nissan, Mickey retired and became a Deacon at St. Stephens Catholic Church. He never turned down a hot dog with mustard and onions, loved to ride his bike and was a ferocious Euchre player.

He was preceded in death by his brothers, Richard, Donald and Tom.A

A loving husband to Carol Mary Moylan, he is also survived by his sons, James Michael (Staci) and Michael Joseph (Lori). He was a loving grandfather to six grandchildren and uncle to numerous nieces and nephews.

Funeral Mass will be conducted at 10:30 A.M., Friday, March 8, 2017 at St. Stephen Catholic Church, 14544 Lebanon Road., Old Hickory, TN 37138. The family will receive friends from 4 P.M. until 8 P.M., Thursday, March 7, 2017 at St. Stephen Catholic Church. Rosary service will be held at 7 P.M.

Mickey was my best friend beginning at Catholic Central High School when he sat next to me during our 12th Grade English class and shared my text book. I shall miss him and wish my dear sister Carol my most sincere condolences.
